A CELEBRATION of all things culinary – with some added ingredients – will be back this summer, with the return of the Sunderland Food and Drink Festival.

Sunderland Food and Drink Festival 2025 is a great day out for all the family. From delicious Street Food to Fresh Produce and Local Favourites, to a jam-packed music and entertainment line-up. Plus, kids’ entertainment and much more – expect a fun-filled weekend.

Some famous faces and local performers will provide the soundtrack to the weekend, featuring acts arranged by Sunderland Music City & ISG
Gardening goodness, giant games, arts & crafts, magical characters and more – real fun for the whole family
Feel the vibes & tuck into traditional street food at the Afrobeats pop-up & celebrate individuality and community with the Pride pop-up!
Expect an exceptional line-up of live music acts, Sunderland Music City picks and entertainment for all the family.
Pride Radio will pop up in Market Square on Saturday, 7 June from 10 AM to 6 PM, playing loads of pop bangers!

From macaroons to olives, baklava, vegetables, preserves and much more - there'll be plenty of fresh produce at the festival.
Expect to see familiar faces as some of your Local Favourites will be joining us all weekend.
Get ready to move! On Sunday 8 June, we turn up the tempo with an unmissable Afrobeats pop-up in Market Square, packed with music, movement and major good vibes!
From 10 AM to 4 PM, the day kicks off with traditional African drumming by the Igba Drummers, a masquerade appearance, and a welcome from the Mayor, all hosted by the ever-energetic Hypeman Best and Hypeman Blaze.
At 12 noon, don’t miss a show-stopping set from Fred Chyke, bringing his signature AfroFusion sound with a twist of reggae and soul, it’s pure sunshine for your ears.
He’s joined by other top performers, including Manny 234, known for his high-energy Afrobeat sets and epic crowd interaction. Add in DJ sets from DJ Sushi Sound and DJ Banko, an Afro-inspired fashion show, giveaways, and more, and you’ve got a full-day celebration that’ll have you dancing all the way home!
There’s plenty to see and do for all the family at Sunderland Food & Drink Festival 2025. From gardening fun to stilt walkers, giant games, fun characters and crafts, the festival is a great day out for families with kids of all ages.
Highlighting the value of creativity and sustainability, our Green Living Zone is new for 2025!
Fresh produce from the A Space to Grow community garden run by the University of Sunderland will be on sale and, on Friday only, visitors can learn about the benefits of home hot composting.
On Saturday only, there will be information about Big Bear Clean Up litter-picks and how to raise funds and awareness for Animals Asia.
There will also be sensory play, arts, crafts and seed planting with Together for Children, while, on Sunday only the Preloved Bear Co will be selling an assortment of pre-loved soft toys.
